Earning Through Labor
Work provides an alternative way to earn gold. Available from the teen stage onward, jobs offer income in exchange for time and fun.
Work requires a certain maturity - only teens and older can hold jobs.
Operating a food stand:
Serve customers as they appear
Earn gold per customer served
Working at a desk:
The Work Trade-off
Work has a significant downside: it decreases fun.
Work earns money but makes the pet less happy.
Why Minigames Are Usually Better
Simple math explains the AI's preference:
Three Minutes of Work
Same Time in Minigames
Gain fun instead of losing it
Multiple quick activities
Minigames solve two problems (gold and fun) while work solves one (gold) and creates another (boredom).
When Work Makes Sense
The AI might choose work when:
Fun is already very high (can afford to lose some)
Minigames are somehow unavailable
Variety is desired for interest
Work is explicitly preferred
These situations are rare.
The Work Experience
When the AI sends the pet to work:
Scene changes to workplace
Fun decreases during work
Pet returns home when done
The entire work session is visible.
Both job types take approximately 3 minutes. During this time:
Other needs continue declining
After work, the AI typically addresses any needs that arose.
Career Progression
TamaGROK doesn't have complex career advancement. Work is simply:
Work vs Other Activities
Work is clearly the least attractive option for the AI.
Income Strategy
The AI's general approach:
Work only if specifically needed
Keep fun high to afford occasional work
Each job type has its own scene:
Stand Work: Food stand environment
Office Work: Desk and office setting
These add visual variety when work is chosen.
Following a work session:
Other stats may have declined
The AI addresses these needs
Possibly plays minigames to restore fun
Work requires recovery time.
