Understanding Stats

The Numbers That Matter

Stats are numerical values that represent your pet's current condition. They constantly change over time, and the AI monitors them to decide what actions to take.

Core Stats

Every pet has six primary needs:

Hunger

How full the pet's stomach is. Starts at a moderate level and decreases over time.

  • Full (80-100): Pet is satisfied, no need to eat

  • Moderate (40-79): Fine for now

  • Low (15-39): Pet is hungry, should eat soon

  • Critical (0-14): Emergency! Pet is starving

Sleep

The pet's energy level. Decreases slowly during waking hours.

  • Full (70-100): Well-rested

  • Moderate (30-69): Getting tired

  • Low (15-29): Very tired, needs rest

  • Critical (0-14): Exhausted

Fun

Happiness and entertainment level. Decreases faster than most stats.

  • Full (70-100): Happy and content

  • Moderate (35-69): Okay but could use entertainment

  • Low (20-34): Bored

  • Critical (0-19): Very unhappy

Health

Physical wellbeing. Decreases when other needs are neglected.

  • Full (70-100): Healthy

  • Moderate (30-69): Some concerns

  • Low (20-29): Sick, needs medicine

  • Critical (0-19): Seriously ill

Hygiene

Cleanliness level. Decreases moderately over time.

  • Full (70-100): Clean

  • Moderate (30-69): Getting dirty

  • Low (15-29): Dirty, needs bath

  • Critical (0-14): Very dirty

Bladder

Need for the bathroom. Decreases fairly quickly.

  • Full (70-100): Comfortable

  • Moderate (30-69): Okay

  • Low (15-29): Needs bathroom soon

  • Critical (0-14): Urgent! Accident imminent

Additional Stats

Beyond the core six, other important numbers exist:

Gold

Currency for buying food, items, and services. Doesn't decay over time.

Discipline

Behavior rating. Low discipline leads to misbehaving.

Death Tick

A hidden survival counter. When hunger or health hits zero, this starts counting down. If it reaches zero, the pet dies.

Skills

Three skill categories developed through school:

  • Expression

  • Logic

  • Endurance

Decay Rates

Stats decrease at different speeds:

Stat
Decay Speed

Fun

Fastest

Bladder

Fast

Hunger

Moderate

Hygiene

Moderate

Health

Slow

Sleep

Slowest

Fun needs the most frequent attention, while sleep can go longer between rests.

Age Affects Survival

The death tick has different maximum values by age:

Age
Maximum Death Tick

Baby

44

Child

60

Teen

74

Adult/Elder

100

Younger pets are more fragile. A baby's death tick runs out much faster than an adult's.

How the AI Uses Stats

The AI constantly reads these numbers and makes decisions:

  1. Check for emergencies - Any stat critically low?

  2. Check for problems - Any stat in the warning zone?

  3. Prioritize - Which problem is most urgent?

  4. Act - Take the appropriate action

  5. Monitor - Watch for changes

The Goal

The AI aims to keep all stats in healthy ranges:

  • Above 70% is ideal

  • Above 40% is acceptable

  • Below 30% needs attention

  • Below 15% is urgent

By maintaining good stats, the pet stays healthy, happy, and safe.
