The Egg
Every pet begins as an egg. This brief stage lasts only about 30 seconds. During this time, the AI simply waits - there's nothing else to do. The egg hatches automatically, revealing your new baby pet.
Baby
The baby stage is the most critical and challenging period. Baby pets are:
Extremely fragile - They can decline much faster than older pets
Very limited - They can only drink milk, not regular food
Dependent - They have few ways to have fun
The AI must pay extra attention during this stage. Mistakes here can be fatal.
Duration: 24 hours from hatching
Child
When a baby reaches 24 hours old, it evolves into a child. This is a major milestone that unlocks:
School - Children can attend classes to develop skills
Minigames - Playing games for fun and gold becomes available
Regular food - No more milk-only diet
More toys - A wider variety of entertainment options
Park visits - Outdoor activities become available
Children are more resilient than babies but still need consistent care.
Duration: 36 hours as a child
Teen
After 36 hours as a child, the pet evolves into a teenager. Teens gain:
Work ability - They can get jobs and earn gold
Social features - Social media and gifting friends
More food options - Additional menu items available
Greater independence - More activities to choose from
Teens are the last stage that can attend school, so it's the final opportunity to develop skills.
Duration: 48 hours as a teen
Adult
The adult stage is the longest and most capable phase of life. Adults have:
Full access - Every feature and activity is available
Dating - Romantic relationships become possible
Maximum resilience - Hardest to accidentally harm
All food - Every menu item is accessible
Adults can no longer attend school (they've graduated), but they have access to everything else.
Duration: 14 days as an adult
Elder
After 14 days as an adult, the pet becomes an elder. This final stage is identical to adult in capabilities but represents the twilight of life. Elders:
Keep all abilities - Nothing is lost from adulthood
Cannot evolve further - This is the final form
Live indefinitely - There's no natural death from old age
Elders represent the culmination of a life well-lived.

Manual vs Automatic Evolution
Pets evolve automatically when they reach the required time. However, evolution can also be triggered manually after a shorter minimum period:

Why Stages Matter
Each stage affects what the AI can do. The agent constantly checks the pet's current life stage before deciding on actions. It won't try to send a baby to school or make a child go to work. Understanding these restrictions helps the AI make appropriate decisions at every phase of life.
